Parents,

We are off for a great year of A. R. reading. Kindergarten’s point goal for the year is 35. For your child to reach this mark, you will need to read to them at home also. When you read a book at home, please send a note with the title of the book so that they can be tested on it and get their points. Periodically I will send a report of their reading record so that you can see how they are doing on points and comprehension.

We will also be having a little homework this year. About once a week your child will begin to bring home a word list to read. We start small but the pace picks up fast so it is important to help your child to keep up or they can become overwhelmed. It is also important to help your child get back to school with their homework pages when they finish with them. This helps them to become responsible students.
