Each first grader is required to earn 40 points this year to earn a trip to GattisLand in Abilene. Students earn their points by reading and taking computer tests.

Most books at our level are just worth a half point. So that would be at least a total of 14 books to read per 6 weeks. Each child earns a half point if he/she makes a perfect score. If he/she makes less, they earn less. So when your child brings home a library book please help them by reading with them.
